ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
Many thanks to Rob Wilcox and Denaploy Ltd for their help constructing
and hosting this website.
The text for the Home page is based on John Ingamells' review for the
Dillwyn Gallery Festival Exhibition that was held in 1965.
The two self-portraits are reproduced by kind permission of the Newport
Museum & Art Gallery. Please note that the right hand image is a detail,
rather than the full painting. Peter Clark took the central photograph
(along with the one used on the Reviews page). The text for the Biography
pages is based on a resumé originally written by Jean Roberts in 2002.
The majority of the images on the Gallery pages appear by kind permission
of Jean Roberts. The exceptions are “Funeral, Merthyr”, “Prie - Dieu, Albi”,
“Howard” and “The Back” which appear by kind permission of Glynn Vivian Art
Gallery, Les Thomas, Howard Jones and the Newport Museum & Art Gallery.
Thanks also to the University of Glamorgan (to Mike Davies and Cath Evans,
Media Services, for digital photography; and to Ceri Thomas, Research Fellow,
Ernest Zobole Art Collection, School of Humanities & Social Sciences).
Thanks also to Paul Hazeldene for his help with some of the images used.
The two articles on the Reviews pages “Paintings With a Wealth of Meaning”
by Harry Lea and “Cwmbran Exhibition” by Bryn Richards are reproduced by kind
permission of ‘Western Mail & Echo’ and ‘The Guardian’; both publications
retain the copyright on the articles. Finally, apologies to the unknown owner
of the painting on the Contact page, which appears without their permission.
